Empowering Minds, Transforming Futures: Nka’Thuto EduPropeller’s Journey in STEAMi Innovation”

Nka’Thuto Edu Propeller, founded by visionary scientists Ms Thulile Khanyile and Ms Thandeka Mhlanga, is a trailblazing non-profit organization. Established in 2016 and officially registered in 2017, this Public Benefit Organization (PBO) stands at the forefront of innovative education in the Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, and Innovation (STEAMi).

Through dynamic programs like Ideas To Concept (I2C) Incubation, innovation clubs, and urban crop management, Nka’Thuto creates a transformative platform. Participants engage in problem-based learning, crafting tech-based solutions that evolve into viable business cases and, eventually, prototypes for potential commercialization.

Collaborating with corporate and non-profit partners, Nka’Thuto extends its impact to under-resourced schools and youth in township and rural communities. Notably, strategic alliances with organizations in Zimbabwe and Cameroon broaden the reach, servicing undergraduate students and creating opportunities for expansion into TVET colleges.

Nka’Thuto, in partnership with Nka’Thuto TechnoPropeller PTY(Ltd), forms a unique hybrid ecosystem. This collaboration not only facilitates the application of educational concepts but also paves the way for the development of tech startups and commercialization through license agreements. This innovative sustainability model positions Nka’Thuto as a leading EdTech organization with a focus on converting job seekers into job creators. As Nka’Thuto EduPropeller charts its course, it invites like-minded partners to join hands, illuminating new pathways and ideas in the realm of STEAMi education.
